Alexis Sanchez holds showdown talks with Arsene Wenger as Arsenal ‘offer him mega £290,000-a-week deal’, according to reports
ALEXIS SANCHEZ has held showdown talks with Arsene Wenger as Arsenal "offer him mega £290,000-a-week deal", according to reports.
The Chilean star has been tipped to leave the Emirates all summer, with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain eyeing a big-money move.
But now, the Gunners will be buoyed as the Ligue 1 giants finalise a £196million move for Barcelona star Neymar.
The transfer is already set to test the Financial Fair Play rules, with the French club unlikely to splash another £50m to bring Sanchez to the French capital.
On top of that, Wenger is adamant he will not be selling the Chilean forward to a Premier League rival.
That would suggest he is set to stay, at least for another year at Arsenal - as the club reportedly have offered the mega-bucks contract.
Sanchez took part in some first-team training today, as he was spotted with boss Wenger and went through some drills with defender Shkodran Mustafi.
But having returned to London Colney later than the rest of the squad firstly due to the Confederations Cup and then illness, Sanchez is still some way off the pace.

The Chile star - who led his country to the final of the tournament in Russia, losing 1-0 to Germany - was also spotted working by himself in the gym.
Sanchez only returned to training full-stop on Tuesday as he was put through his pre-season paces solo.
Recently, it was reported Sanchez would hand in a transfer request in order to force through a move this summer.
He was due back at Arsenal on Sunday but posted an Instagram selfie claiming to be sick, with Wenger since confirming he had the flu.
So far Sanchez has been something of a contract rebel this summer, already rejecting Arsenal’s £275k-a-week deal.
The club will be hoping the extra £15,000 per week could be the clincher.
