Watford join Birmingham in race for Everton’s ex-England winger Aaron Lennon on permanent deal
New Watford boss Marco Silva has declared his interest in bringing experienced winger Aaron Lennon on-board
MARCO SILVA is looking to add some much needed experience to his new Watford side in the form of ex-Spurs man Aaron Lennon.
The Hornets will have to negotiate with Everton - as the Toffees are looking to offload Lennon on a permanent deal - while Watford want their man on loan.
The 30-year-old still possesses a frightening burst of acceleration and quality delivery, which Silva will hope can feed the Hornets' star striker Troy Deeney.
Lennon has recently been on the road to recovery from a stress-related illness - which left him sectioned under the Mental Health Act in May.
Policemen picked him up on the busy M602 motorway and were apparently "concerned for his welfare".
He returned to training sooner than expected, and even featured in pre-season for the Toffees - scoring against Dutch side FC Twente last month.
Lennon has also been linked to a move to Birmingham City - pursued by his former manager at Spurs, Harry Redknapp.
The winger may not be in Everton manager Ronald Koeman's plans for next season, so will be looking elsewhere for regular first-team action.
