Watford boss Marco Silva launches enquiry for Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno as he tries to tie up Aaron Lennon loan deal
Hornets boss Marco Silva plans a double swoop for Moreno and Lennon to add experience to the team before new season
WATFORD are hoping to make a double swoop on Merseyside for Liverpool's out-of-favour full-back Alberto Moreno and Everton winger Aaron Lennon.
The Hornets joined Birmingham in the race to sign former England wideman Lennon on loan, but Everton are looking for a permanent move.
The 30-year-old would fill a much needed gap in the Watford side, given their lack of wide players.
Silva would hope Lennon can provide star forward Troy Deeney with some quality service from the wing.
The Portuguese manager also expressed his desire to sign more English talent, to add to the likes of regular starters Deeney and Tom Cleverley - who recently had his loan deal made permanent.
Silva is also keen on bringing in Alberto Moreno, providing some competition for Greek left-back Jose Holebas.
Liverpool may be willing to let the Spaniard go after a torrid campaign last season.
The Reds have brought in what seems to be Moreno's replacement in young English full-back Andrew Robertson from Hull.

Watford have also enquired for Arsenal wantaway left-back Kieran Gibbs, but Moreno may be a fail safe if they can't get that deal done.
They might have to splash the cash if they want the Spanish full-back, as Liverpool spent £12m to recruit the speedy defender from Sevilla.
Jurgen Klopp suggested Moreno could still have a place in the team after his impressive display in this week's 3-0 pre-season win over Bayern Munich.
Marco Silva has already made five signings this window - including Cleverley, Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah and Spaniard Kiko Femenia from Alaves.
The Hornets will be looking to bolster their squad even further before the beginning of the Premier League season - which kicks off next weekend.
They host Liverpool at Vicarage Road on Saturday - as the Portuguese manager looks to recover from a poor run of form last season which led to a disappointing 17th place finish.
