LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp will not allow Philippe Coutinho to replace Neymar at Barcelona for any price.

It puts to bed claims the club are prepared to sell the Brazilian star this summer if a potential suitor stumps up enough cash, according to the Daily Mirror.

Paris Saint-Germain also want  Coutinho, but it has been suggested the 25-year-old has set his heart on a switch to Catalonia.

Liverpool have already rejected a £72million bid from Barca, and Klopp's stance that they are no longer a selling club is fully backed by owners the Fenway Sports Group.

The German coach spoke to Coutinho in Asia after the initial bid was rebuffed and made it clear the Brazilian - who signed a new five-year deal in January - is vital to the club's challenge for honours.

Klopp has insisted it is important the club show they only move players on who are no longer wanted at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has told the club’s fans that the European giants are “looking for alternatives” following Neymar's £198million move to PSG.

He said: “We thought there was a chance that Neymar could go and for that reason we raised his buy-out clause.

"Now we are looking for alternatives and whatever happened here it is in the end good for Barca because if he stayed then we have a great player and if he goes then we bring in a lot of money.

"The [£198million] we will spend sensibly, strictly and wisely. It will be used to improve the club and with this it means that we are in a great position to sign players.”
