The Premier League debutants are set for a baptism of fire against Pep's big spenders
PREMIER LEAGUE new boys Brighton officially hit the big time when they kick their season off against Manchester City.
Seagulls manager Chris Hughton will test himself against Blues boss Pep Guardiola who has so far spent £200 million this summer on new recruits.
Guardiola has plenty of new defensive options available to him having bought in Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker and Danilo.
Midfielder Bernardo Silva signed form Monaco is also expected to make his debut, as is new goalkeeper Ederson.
It has also been a busy summer at the AMEX as Brighton have brought in Pascal Gross, Josh Kerr, Markus Suttner and Mathias Normann along with 'keeper Maty Ryan.
The club have also signed PSV Eindhoven midfielder Davy Propper in a £6million deal - a club record transfer.
The Seagulls wanted tie up the deal for Propper, 25, in time for him to make his debut against City.
The fee exceeds the £5m the club paid for Ryan from Valencia earlier this summer.
