JOSE MOURINHO came face-to-face with his No1 summer target in Skopje — but their meeting didn’t quite go as planned.

Mourinho held his hand out as he walked past Luka Modric, who he signed for Real Madrid back in 2011.
But the Welshman took a little longer to notice.
And, when the moment of contact arrived, Bale could only find Mourinho’s wrist.

Casemiro opened the scoring for the European champions before Bale set up Isco to score a sublime second.
Ahead of the game, Mourinho admitted he would “fight” for the former Tottenham man had he been left out of the starting XI by Zinedine Zidane.
He had claimed an omission would have been signal of a willingness to sell.
However, after Bale started and starred in Los Blancos’ 2-1 win, Mourinho accepted it was “game over” in his pursuit.
