Tottenham injury boost as Kieran Trippier set to miss no more than two weeks of new season
TOTTENHAM have been given a huge boost by the news Kieran Trippier is only set to miss up to two weeks of the new season.
Trippier injured his ankle in the 2-0 win over Juventus on Saturday and it had been feared he could have been out of action for more than a month.
The 26-year-old went for scans on Tuesday – but with some of the initial swelling reduced, SunSport have been told the injury is not as bad as first feared.

The right-back will miss the opening game of the season at Newcastle and is in a race against time to be fit for the first home Premier League game at Wembley against Chelsea.
Following the sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City, the former Burnley defender is the only right-back available to Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine coach could be forced to shuffle his pack and use Eric Dier on the right at Newcastle on Sunday.
Alternatively, Poch could go with three at the back and play Moussa Sissoko in the right wing-back role against his former club.
Young Kyle Walker-Peters is not seen as ready to step up to the first team, and the North Londoners have been searching for more right-back options.

Pochettino said after the Juventus win: "He is still so young (Walker-Peters) and I think it’s too much for him.
“He’s a player who needs to work with us and maybe play in different games.
“But we cannot think of only him if Kieran is weeks away from the team. We’re working to find a solution.”
Valencia's Joao Cancelo and Paris Saint-Germain's Serge Aurier have both been linked with moves to White Hart Lane with Pochettino yet to make a signing this summer.
Trippier should be back and available for England’s World Cup qualifying double-header against Malta and Slovakia in September.
