And Barcelona are now ready to move on, targeting Spurs' Danish midfielder Eriksen, according to the Independent.

Barca have a wad of cash to spend before the end of the transfer window and have made an attacking midfielder their key priority.

They also want to think more long-term and eye the 25-year-old as the ideal replacement for Andres Iniesta.

Eriksen was in sensational form last season having scored eight goals and assisted 15.

But negotiations could drag out until the end of August with the Danish international signing a four-year contract extension almost 12 months ago.

But the lure of silverware at the Nou Camp and a huge increase in his pay packet could convince Eriksen to hold discussions with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Levy, who is a notoriously tough negotiator, could face a player revolt following Danny Rose's latest comments.

The left-back said he wants a wage packet that matches "what he is worth" which could lead to his team-mates making the same stance.
