REAL MADRID legend Iker Casillas has joined the 'Fellaini Challenge' on Twitter as he posts a throwback picture of himself taking a ball to the face.

The goalkeeper shared a photo via Twitter captioned 'Long long time... from the creators of ...' after seeing Marouane Fellaini's picture go viral.

It comes in the wake of Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini after he was pictured in the UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid taking a painful ball to the face.

Fellaini took the picture pretty well as he shared it himself on Twitter after the game and laughed it off with his followers captioned: 'Thank you to everyone who posted & sent me this'.

Yet Porto goalkeeper Casillas isn't the only one getting involved in the #fellachallenge as Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels also posted himself taking a ball to the face captioned: 'Doing the #fellachallenge before it was cool'.

In which has seen followers replying with their favourite pictures of footballers being hit in the face with a ball ..

It's safe to say that the Belgium international isn't the only one!

As the Premier League is back this weekend Marouane Fellaini amongst other players will be looking to avoid this kind of action shot.
