Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher slams Jurgen Klopp for the Reds’ slack defending and says Virgil van Dijk is not the answer
JAMIE CARRAGHER slams Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool's defensive frailties after they conceded two soft goals to Watford.
The Reds conceded after just eight minutes when Stefano Okaka scored a powerful header after some poor marking saw him unchallenged.
They then conceded on the half hour mark when Tom Cleverley's low cross was fired in by Abdoulaye Doucoure - after Jordan Henderson failed to track his runner.
NOT PICKED YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM YET? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
And the Liverpool legend insists even the arrival of Virgil Van Dijk would not fix their defensive woes.
Speaking at half time on Sky Sports, Carragher said: "Liverpool are a shambles, all over the place.
"That first half was like Liverpool at their very worst last season. What do they do on the training ground?
"What have they done in pre-season? You talk about [Virgil] Van Dijk coming in, it's about how they set up, it's coaching, one player is not going to change that."
Liverpool's defence buckled in the dying minutes as Miguel Britos' shot from a tight angle went in during stoppage time to clinch a point for the hosts.
Before kick-off, Carragher was shocked by Alberto Moreno's inclusion in the starting XI.
He added: "Did I think there was any hope of seeing Moreno in a Liverpool shirt again at the end of the season? Not a chance."

"I must say I don't like the fact that Klopp is judging him on pre-season, a couple of good games, it's not the place."
"I don't like the fact he's giving him the chance on the back of pre-season, he knows the players, he's had him for 18 months."
"He's done well pre-season. The more we get used to Klopp he's not someone always going to look at the cheque book."
