Manchester United transfer news: Ivan Perisic wants to stay at Inter Milan, insists boss Luciano Spalletti

INTER MILAN boss Luciano Spalletti has insisted Ivan Perisic wants to stay at the club, despite interest from Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho has desperately been trying to bring the 28-year-old winger to Old Trafford, but has been foiled in his attempts to sign the Croatian.
The Red Devils had a £35m bid rejected for the former Borussia Dortmund star back in July with the Serie A side holding out for a reported £50million.
And Spalletti has confirmed that Perisic was tempted to make the switch to the Premier League, but is set for a season at the San Siro.
He told Sky Italia: "Perisic is determined to stay.
"There was a moment (when he considered moving), but then he spoke like a footballer who is interested in doing the right thing for his professionalism and he drew a conclusion."
SunSport revealed last week that Mourinho had given up in his quest to nab Perisic after finding the Italian club difficult to negotiate with.
It was reported yesterday that the ex-Wolfsburg ace had emerged as a shock target for Chelsea after the aftermath of their 3-2 defeat against Burnley.

While Barcelona could move for Perisic if they fail in their attempts to bring either Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele to the Nou Camp.
However the news that he wants to stay with Inter will come a major blow to potential suitors with the end of the transfer window looming.
Last month Mourinho revealed that he was still on the lookout for new signings.
He said: "I'm happy with my squad but I would like to have two more players - I never hide that.
"One player would be a midfield player that gives me more options and balance to the team and our needs.
"Another one an attacking player, especially that can play through the wings to give me also more attacking options."
