Blues manager at odds with clubs over transfers is eager to land signings before transfer window shuts

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte is ready to splash £120million on a trio of signings that he hopes will reignite the Blues' title defence.

The Blues suffered a stunning 3-2 defeat to Burnley in their opening game of the season.

Conte has been at odds with the Stamford Bridge hierarchy over signings and the club as a whole remain at war with exiled Diego Costa.

But a fresh £35m move for the Gunners Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the boost they need.

Arsenal run the risk of losing the England international for nothing next summer, when he will be in the final year of his contract.

And Chelsea are said to be growing increasingly confident of agreeing a deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain in that context.

Meanwhile, Van Dijk remains a target for a number of Prem clubs - but is said to be more likely to join join Chelsea or Manchester City than Liverpool.

Saints will demand a whopping £70million for the Belgian, though, who did not feature in the side's opening weekend 0-0 draw against Swansea.

Drinkwater is also thought to be very much a part of Chelsea's plans.

Reports claim they will this week make a second bid for the former Premier League winner.

The Stamford Bridge outfit have already had one bid of £15m rejected by the Foxes.

But an improved offer increases the chances of a reunion with former King Power team-mate N'Golo Kante.
