Newcastle complete signing of Stoke striker Joselu on a three-year deal worth £5million
Spaniard spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna but now becomes Rafa Benitez's sixth summer signing
NEWCASTLE have completed the signing of Stoke striker Joselu on a three-year deal worth £5million.
The 27-year-old Spaniard who spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna becomes Rafa Benitez's sixth summer signing.
Former Real Madrid, Celta Vigo and Hoffenheim star Joselu joined the Potters for £5.75m from German side Hannover 96 in June 2015.
But now he is looking forward to a new challenge in the north east under fellow Spaniard Benitez.
Joselu said: "I feel very happy because I have signed for a very big club. I'm very happy to be part of this club, and so excited.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know my team-mates, the city, the training ground, the stadium and all the supporters. I'm very happy to be here."
Toon boss Benitez said: "We have known Joselu since his days at the Real Madrid academy, and we know that he has the potential to do well for us.
"Obviously he has experience of English football and the Premier League and that was another thing we took into consideration.
"We think if we can exploit his full potential he will be a good signing for us.

Former Spain Under-21s forward Joselu scored four goals in 27 appearances in his only season in the Premier League for Stoke.
Newcastle lost their first game back in the top flight 2-0 to Spurs on Sunday, with Jonjo Shelvey seeing red for stamping on Dele Alli.
Stoke recently completed a shock season-long loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain's Jese Rodriguez.
