Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino makes great signing with letter to marrying Spurs fans

The Spurs manager has endured a difficult summer after Danny Rose's explosive SunSport interview but he has not lost his sentimental side

TOTTENHAM boss Mauricio Pochettino has made a brilliant signing – penning a letter to a Spurs-mad couple getting married.

The Argentine manager was approached by the couple’s best man for a good-luck message ahead of their big day.

And the former Saints boss took time out of preparing for his big day – facing Chelsea at their temporary Wembley home on Sunday – to type up a classy reply.

White Hart Lane season-ticket holder Russell Winborn is marrying Gemma Peart this summer and best man Alex Buckland went the extra mile for a gift.

Poch told the happy couple to take a leaf out of his young side’s style and work together for best results.

He wrote: “I am writing to congratulate you on this special occasion.

“I'm sure it will a long and prosperous marriage and on behalf of everyone here at Tottenham Hotspur I should like to wish you both the very best for your future together.

“And remember in life, just like in football, a little teamwork can get you some great results!”

After the SunSport exclusive interview with Spurs rebel Danny Rose threatened to rock Spurs’ season, the gaffer might have been too focused to take the time for such a kind gesture.

But chairman Daniel Levy has made a bold stand and insisted that the club’s star players – including midfield goal machine Dele Alli – are not up for sale.

City and Barca have been monitoring Alli after his brilliant last season but Levy has made it clear his future is at Tottenham.

Levy is also preparing to fend off a deadline day bid for Rose from Chelsea, despite his bombshell interview.

Spurs, who are still struggling to make signings, have said they are not in the business of selling their top stars.
