Manchester United and City battling it out to sign Club Brugge sensation Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis
Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to go head-to-head with Etihad boss Pep Guardiola to try and bring the Nigerian teenage starlet to the Premier League as Monaco and Dortmund also plot swoops
MANCHESTER UNITED and Manchester City are competing for Nigerian strike prodigy Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis.
Leicester are also on the trail of the 19-year-old Club Brugge frontman.
Dennis has taken Belgian football by storm with five goals in his opening five games this season.
And according to Het Laatste Nieuws, rival bosses Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Craig Shakespeare are all sending scouts to watch the teenager in Brugge's Europa League clash with AEK Athens tonight.
Monaco and Borussia Dortmund will also have observers at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Dennis first made his name last season with Ukrainian club Zorya Luhansk.
He scored six goals in 22 games to help the outsiders finish third after arriving as an unknown from Nigeria's Abuja academy.
He has been on City's radar for a year, with club spies checking on him last September.
LATEST MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS
Dennis signed a contract until 2021 with Brugge during the summer.
The Jupiler League club's bosses want to keep hold of him.
They have pinned their hopes on the starlet after selling striker Jose Izquierdo to Brighton for £13.5million.
But they will be powerless to resist the Premier League clubs' financial muscle if any of the trio follow up their interest in the youngster.
And that could happen before the end of this month or during the January transfer window.
