Samir Nasri joins Antalyaspor from Manchester City for just £3.2million on two-year contract

The midfielder has ended his six-year spell at Manchester City to link up with the Turkish outfit on a permanent deal

SAMIR NASRI has completed his move to Turkish side Antalyaspor from Manchester City on a two-year deal.

Nasri has moved for a fee of just £3.2million - City had paid £25m for Nasri to bring him in from Arsenal back in 2011.

SunSport reported yesterday how the French midfielder was mobbed by Antalyaspor fans after arriving in the southern city for his move to the Turkish club.

The former Arsenal man was binned by Pep Guardiola as soon as the Spanish boss arrived at the Etihad, banished to train away from the first team due to being overweight.

The playmaker won two league titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups during his time at the Etihad where he was, for his first three seasons, a favourite.

But he was shoved out on loan to Sevilla as soon as Guardiola arrived last summer and had little chance of returning.

Antalyaspor have money to burn with former Chelsea and Barcelona man Samuel Eto’o captaining the club.

Nasri will also reunite with former Gunners team-mate Johan Djourou at the Antalya Stadyumu.

Manchester City released a statement on their website, where they wrote: "Everybody at the club wishes Samir good luck in the next chapter of his career and would like to thank him for some fantastic memories."

And the former France midfielder will be expected to raise spirits as well as league position after they lost their opening match.

The midfielder is going to coin it in with wages of around £3.6million per year.

And that will nicely top up the £170,000-a-week he was pocketing at City across five seasons.

In Spain last season, Nasri only scored three and assisted as many in 31 appearances for Eduardo Berizzo’s side.

Antalyaspor narrowly missed out on Europa League qualification last term after finishing fifth in Super Lig.
