Jonny Evans set to leave West Brom to become a £30million Man City player next week
City ready to increase bid for central defender who 'can handle anything thrown at him' in the Premier League
WEST BROMWICH central defender Jonny Evans looks set to become a £30million Manchester City player next week.
Latest reports suggest City are ready to substantially improve their opening bid of £19m.
Former Manchester United player Evans has not played for WBA this season after refusing to sign a new deal.
The Daily Mirror claims the Northern Ireland international will soon join the Pep Guardiola revolution at the Etihad.
Albion are set to replace Evans by signing Kevin Wimmer and Vincent Janssen from Tottenham. Furthermore, the report adds that WBA could lose Nacer Chadli to Swansea as well.
Vastly-experienced Evans, 29, has long been West Brom’s best defender and his departure will be a major blow for Tony Pulis.
As far as City are concerned he is a good defender who has the experience of winning titles.

He can be a very useful option for City during injuries and rotation.
Evans will obviously have no problems settling in.
He still lives in Manchester so won’t face any relocation issues either.
And Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has tipped Evans to be a huge hit at moneybags City.
He said: "Jonny Evans is good enough to play at the top end of the Premier League.
"He has all the things you look for in a defender: mobility, leadership, good use of the ball, good game intelligence.
"What Jonny offers is flexibility in the sense that he can play in a flat back four, in a back three and we have played him at left-back on occasions.
"So that ability to play in a number of positions is great from a defensive point of view.
"Jonny is proven in the Premier League: he can handle anything thrown at him."
