Swansea defender Kyle Bartley is out for up to two months after scan reveals serious knee injury
But manager Paul Clement rules out signing an emergency replacement before close of the transfer window
SWANSEA CITY have confirmed that central defender Kyle Bartley could be missing for the next months with a knee injury.
Bartley, 26, landed awkwardly in Carabao Cup win at Milton Keynes after an 80th minute challenge and was taken off on a stretcher.
The Englishman underwent a scan and, following damage to his medial ligament, will see a specialist next week.
Bartley, who spent last season on loan at Leeds United, signed a new contract in August and has featured in all three of Swansea's games in 2017-18.
Boss Paul Clement has said he is unlikely to make any fresh moves in the transfer market despite an injury to Bartley.
When asked if he expected to look for defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes, Clement told Sky Sports News:
"Probably not. I expect we will stick with what we've got. We've got three good central defenders at the club.
"He was a player who did really well last season away on loan.
