Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti says Liverpool target Renato Sanches can leave ‘no problem’

Liverpool now have a green light from Carlo Ancelotti to target Renato Sanches who could provide alternative options in midfield

LIVERPOOL could be one step closer to securing Renato Sanches after Carlo Ancelotti claimed he did not have a problem with the midfielder leaving Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese player has not made the impact that the club expected him to when he arrived in a £32million deal and Ancelotti is indifferent about the player's future.

Having spent the opening game of the season on the bench,  Sanches was told by Ancelotti that he faced lots of competition to secure a place in the team.

The Reds are looking to capitalise on this and have been eyeing up the 20-year-old as another option in midfield while Adam Lallana is sidelined due to a thigh injury and Philippe Coutinho's future is uncertain.

The midfielder has spent just a year with the German side, who won the Bundesliga last season, but Ancelotti appeared undeterred, he said: "If he stays I am satisfied. If he wants to leaver it's okay as well. No problem."

So far this summer, Liverpool have bought Mohamed Salah on board from Roma as a midfielder, Dominic Solanke from Chelsea as a striker and Andrew Robertson as a defender from Hull City.

They have only spent £44million to bring these three to Anfield and have pocketed £11million from players they have sold.

Bayern beat off competition from Manchester United last summer when they secured Sanches' move from Benfica.

Liverpool may have to enter a race with Chelsea to secure the player, with the competition certain to have heated up after Ancelotti's comments.

Jurgen Klopp has already seen the Portuguese international in action when the Reds faced Bayern Munich in the Audi cup this summer.

Sanches was voted the best young player at Euro 2016, where he was part of the tournament winning team.
