CHRIS WOOD snatched a dramatic point against Tottenham as Spurs' Wembley hoodoo continues.
Just when it looked as though Spurs had ended their Wembley curse, Robbie Brady's brilliant ball picked out new signing Wood and the Clarets' £15m new signing fired the ball into the bottom corner for an incredible equaliser.
Harry Kane’s August jinx continued as the ex-Millwall ace missed a host of opportunities for Mauricio Pochettino's side.
The England striker and two-times Golden Boot winner has never scored a Premier League goal in the first month of the campaign.
And he will be left feeling frustrated with his performance against the Clarets.
Tottenham just edged the early pressure but Heung-min Son blazed their first chance so far over the bar he would not have looked out of place at Saturday’s Rugby League Challenge Cup Final, which had taken place on the hallowed turf 24 hours earlier.
Pochettino said he did not expect the pitch to suffer as a result and he was correct as the bowling green-like surface was once again perfect.
It could certainly not be blamed for a dismal first-half when Spurs looked a shadow of the side that ran opponents ragged on their way to finishing second in the Prem last term.

Lacklustre and laboured, it appeared as though Pochettino’s players were either worn out or sussed out.
Robbie Brady’s cross-cum-shot almost caught out Hugo Lloris, who had to acrobatically turn the ball away for a sixth minute corner.
Kane should have done better when Ben Davies a free kick into the Clarets’ six-yard box. But the England star fluffed his lines in front of goal as he headed well over.
Eric Dier then followed suit with a carbon copy header from a Christian Eriksen centre.
The best chance of the half fell to Kane in the 39th minute when left-back Davies pulled the ball to him just outside the six yard box.
But after taking a touch too many his shot was blocked by James Tarkowski.
The boos from a minority of home fans in the 67,862 crowd which greeted the half-time whistle must have still been ringing in the Spurs’ stars ears when they took the lead in the 49th minute.
The hosts had Ben Mee to thank as the Burnley defender made a real hash of trying to clear the ball out of the six yard box after Dier had flicked on an Eriksen corner.
Alli’s first shot was blocked by a combination of Lowton and, oddly, his own Tottenham team-mate Mousa Dembele.
But the Three Lions midfield star made no mistake from the rebound as he lashed the ball into the net.
The hosts’ relief was palpable, but while one jinx was on its way to ending another continued as Kane steered a 53rd minute shot wide of the target.
Then after Lloris had pulled off a stunning save to keep out Brady’s fizzing 20-yarder, Kane was denied twice by Tom Heaton in the Burnley goal.
But the away side's pressure finally paid off when Wood struck in injury time as he lashed the ball past Lloris on his first Premier League appearance for his new side.
