Tottenham transfer news: Inter Milan make Moussa Sissoko enquiry over proposed loan deal

France international has failed to hit the heights under Mauricio Pochettino since his £30million switch from Newcastle

INTER MILAN are the latest side to join the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to reports.

The 28-year-old has failed to hit the heights under Mauricio Pochettino since moving from Newcastle for a then club-record signing of £30million last year.

He has been the subject of a loan offer from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, but they are struggling to agree personal terms with the French international.

This has led Inter to steal a march on the Super Lig side, where they too are looking to bring him in on a season-long loan.

According to the Daily Mail and Sky Italia, Luciano Spalletti is keen to bolster his side as they look to mount a serious charge for the Serie A title.

A 3-0 home win against Fiorentina was followed up by a destructive 3-1 away victory against last season's runners-up Roma - confirming their status as serious challengers.

They have already spent close to £70m on arrivals this summer, but have offloaded the likes of Ever Banega and Gary Medel on permanent deals, while Geoffrey Kondogbia has joined Valencia on loan.

Sissoko has been out of favour under Pochettino in recent matches.

He started against the Magpies in their opening fixture of the new season, but found himself benched in the home ties against Chelsea and Burnley.

The ex-Toulouse ace started just EIGHT Premier League matches last campaign, and is seeking a move away from Wembley in order for regular first team football.

He is yet to find the back of the net for the Lilywhites.
