KEVIN WIMMER has passed his medical ahead of an £18million move to Stoke, according to reports.
With Tottenham having signed Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, the Austrian became surplus to requirements.
And Sky Sports report the deal will be announced within the next 24 hours.
Wimmer joined from FC Koln in the summer of 2015, but has only made 15 Premier League appearances in two years.
An injury to first choice central defender Toby Alderweireld allowed the 24-year-old some playing time towards the end of last season.
However, Mauricio Pochettino opted to drop Eric Dier back from midfielder for the majority of the Belgian's absence.
And Wimmer played just five times all season.
He becomes the Potters' fifth summer signing— but second central defender.

Mark Hughes has also brought Bruno Martins Indi on a permanent deal from Porto and Kurt Zouma on a loan from Chelsea.
