Manchester City preparing Jonny Evans bid after West Brom reject Leicester’s £21million offer
Baggies rejected the opening bid from the Foxes for their captain but City are now readying their offer for the former Manchester United defender
MANCHESTER CITY are expected to table a bid for Jonny Evans after West Brom rejected Leicester's £23million offer, according to reports.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis turned down the bid claiming it was below their £30million valuation of Evans, 29.
But the Mirror are now reporting that Manchester City are readying a bid of their own to try and get the former Manchester United defender.
The report claims City had an £18million offer rejected earlier in the transfer window but are ready to come back and seal the deal before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Pulis was tempted by getting City defender Eliaquim Mangala on loan as part of a deal for Evans going the other way.
But the Frenchman is also wanted by Italian giants Inter Milan.
Evans is yet to feature this season and was not in the squad for Sunday’s 1-1 with Stoke.
But writing in the match-day programme, Evans claimed he remains fully committed to West Brom unless the club take the decision to flog him.

“All I’ve been concentrating on is getting fit and getting back out on the pitch and doing my bit for the team.
“Every window there’s always speculation over transfers but as players these things are often out of your control and it’s best not to think about it too much.
“Until anybody tells me different, I’m only committed to Albion and I’m only thinking about getting in this team.
"It’s a great club and I’m proud to be captain.”
