Liverpool facing race to wrap up £74m Thomas Lemar as Barcelona join fight for Monaco ace as plan B for Philippe Coutinho
Catalan giants are considering bid for the Frenchman who is wanted by the Reds as they are refusing to negotiate a deal for their Brazilian playmaker
LIVERPOOL are under pressure to seal a £74million deal for Thomas Lemar — because Barcelona are weighing up a bid.
The Catalan club have reportedly been frustrated with the Reds not negotiating with them over Philippe Coutinho.
And Mundo Deportivo are now claiming Barca will turn to Monaco star Lemar, 21, as an alternative.
The French international is one of three players named alongside Juventus striker Paulo Dybala and Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
Barca have become increasingly annoyed with Liverpool over the sale of Brazilian playmaker Coutinho.
Reports emerged today that a deal was close to being done but it now looks like Barca are preparing to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Kop boss Jurgen Klopp was keen on bringing Lemar to Anfield and has had two bids already rejected by the French champions.
But competition from Barca could see him decide to snub a move to Merseyside.
