Stoke ace Bojan Krkic heading to La Liga side Alaves on season-long loan deal
Former Barcelona striker is set for a spell back in his homeland with the option for a permanent move
STOKE forward Bojan Krkic is heading to Alaves on loan.
The ex-Barcelona star, 27, will return to Spain for the season after being told he can leave the bet365 Stadium.
Malaga were linked with a deal for Bojan but he is set to sign for Alaves, who are looking to bolster their attack after failing to pick up a point this season.
Mark Hughes looked like giving Bojan a chance this campaign following a spell at Mainz in Germany.
But Sparky made the forward available for transfer as he looks to make last-minute changes to his squad before the transfer deadline.
Bojan - who has also played for Ajax, Roma and AC Milan – started on the opening day of the season but has not played in the Premier League since.
He has three years left on his current Stoke deal but could look to leave permanently at the end of his loan if chances are limited.
The 26-year-old forward scored three times in nine league appearances but was allowed to go on loan to Mainz when Hughes decided to turn to Jon Walters and Peter Crouch and go for a more direct approach.
