Pep Guardiola is keen to bring in Sanchez without losing another player, but Arsenal wanted Raheem Sterling to be added to the deal as his replacement, according to Daily Mail.

Although City's previous offer to send Sterling to North London as well as a chunk of cash proved to be too little for Arsene Wenger.

But with threat of the transfer window about to be slammed shut and an increased bid, the South American striker may finally get the reunion with his ex-Barcelona boss he was hoping for.

Which will also come as a relief to his Gunner teammates who are growing increasingly frustrated with Sanchez and have accused him of humiliating his colleagues after poor performances.

Wenger is said to have met with his coaching staff to reevaluate his team after a disastrous 4-0 defeat to Liverpool saw them slip to 16th in the the league.

A decision was made to allow players to leave the club if that is what they want, providing their valuation is met.

The £70m on offer is around the Emirates side's intended price tag for the striker, but if they do agree to the deal, time is running out to find a replacement with the transfer window set to close Thursday at 11pm.

City are reluctant to part ways with Sterling who has began the new season with two goals.
