Batshuayi's future at Stamford Bridge looks uncertain after the club brought in Alvaro Morata, while they are also closing in on the signing of Swansea City star Fernando Llorente.

And according to French news outlet Foot Mercato, the 23-year-old has emerged as a "serious" target for Koeman.

He played second fiddle to Diego Costa in West London last season, and has only played 82 minutes of Premier League football this campaign.

Everton were interested in a possible loan deal for Costa until January, but they were not prepared to fork out approximately £184,000-a-week before his impending switch to Atletico Madrid in January for £49million.

This has led the Belgian international to be at the top of the pile for Koeman - who is not content with the signings of Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez up top.

The ex-Manchester United man has played in a deeper role this season, while the former Malaga maestro is yet to break his duck for his new side.

Batshuayi has already found the back of the net for the Blues this year - an own goal against Tottenham in a 2-1 win at Wembley.

He could be on the move to Merseyside, with contract rebel Ross Barkley coming in the other direction.

The talented playmaker is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, but has seen his club reject a £25m bid from Chelsea for his services.

While Antonio Conte is also on the hunt for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
