Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to play in goal at Grenfell charity match on Alan Shearer’s team

Old Trafford manager will play in the event to help raise funds for the victims of the London tragedy

JOSE MOURINHO will be trying his luck between the sticks at the Grenfell charity match on Saturday.

The Manchester United boss will line-up alongside the likes of Jamie Redknapp, Ally McCoist and David James in Alan Shearer's team.

They face Les Ferdinand's side - which includes Peter Crouch, David Seaman and Clint Hill - at Loftus Road.

Stars from the sporting, music and entertainment world will band together to raise money in aid of the victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster.

Marcus Mumford, who will captain Team Ferdinand, revealed the last-minute "transfer" in an Instagram video.

He said: "Ladies and gentlemen I have some huge transfer news ahead of Game 4 Grenfell at Loftus Road tomorrow.

"The great Jose Mourinho, resurrecting his professional career, has just signed for Team Shearer."

Former centre-midfielder Mourinho, who played his last professional game for Portuguese side Comercio e Industria in 1987, insists he is still able to do damage on the pitch.

When asked how his fitness was, he replied: "The best, the best shape of my life."

And the Portuguese coach, when asked how much he would be worth in today's market, joked: "I don't accept if it is not £1 more than Neymar."

Mourinho christened himself the Special One during his first stint as Chelsea manager.

When asked whether fans will see something special on Saturday, the 54-year-old smiled: "For sure, for good or for bad, but special for sure."
