Marcus Rashford: Twitter reacts as the Manchester United star gives the ball away for England as Slovakia gifted early goal
The 19-year-old was at fault for the opener as the Celta Vigo winger Stanislav Lobotka lashed the ball home at Wembley in the third minute
MARCUS RASHFORD was booed by England fans as he gave the ball away, gifting Slovakia an early lead at Wembley.
The 19-year-old tried to dribble his way out of danger, but was dispossessed as Stanislav Lobotka lashed the ball home in the third minute.
Rashford - who plays as a centre-forward for Manchester United - was deployed as a right winger by Gareth Southgate.
Not used to tracking back and filling in down the right-hand side, the teenage sensation got himself in a mix-up early on.
Adam Nemec then found Lobotka with a glorious chipped through ball, and the Celta Vigo winger dispatched his shot beyond Joe Hart.
The West Ham goalkeeper really should have dealt better with the attempt.
If Slovakia manage to take home all three points, they will go top of Group F.
However, much to Rashford's relief, Eric Dier got the Three Lions back on level terms after a glorious flick from a corner in the 37th minute.
