Liverpool fear Nathaniel Clyne could be out for another three months after Jurgen Klopp leaves him out of Champions League squad
Right-back has not played since pre-season and it now looks like another lengthy spell on the sidelines is on the cards
NATHANIEL CLYNE is feared to be out injured for another three months after being left out of Liverpool's Champions League squad.
The defender has been ruled out with a back injury since playing in the Reds pre-season fixture against Tranmere Rovers.
And the Times are reporting that Jurgen Klopp decided not to risk putting the right-back in for the group stage games.
The report also claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold's current form at right-back has also influenced the Kop boss' decision.
Clyne had withdrawn from England duty in May and missed the qualifier against Scotland and friendly with France.
And it is feared the same back injury that ruled him out then could keep him out for another lengthy period.
The decision to leave him out was also questioned when Adam Lallana — who is out until November — was included in the squad.
Wantaway striker Philippe Coutinho was also named in the squad after his failed £138million-move to Barcelona.

Should Coutinho be fit, he will be available for selection for Liverpool’s group-stage opener against Sevilla on September 13.
Klopp's £40m summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also in the squad after leaving Arsenal.
