Liverpool's first Champions League away match in three years will see them take on Russian champions Spartak Moscow

LIVERPOOL face a trip to Moscow as they get their first Champions League campaign in three years underway.

The Reds start at Anfield against Sevilla in a repeat of their 2016 Europa League final loss, before facing Spartak Moscow away in their second match.

Here is everything you need to know about the clash with Spartak on September 27.

How do I get to Moscow?

Direct flights are available from London Gatwick to Moscow Sheremetyevo from £265 with Aeroflot.

Flights from Manchester are available from £295, stopping in Frankfurt, with Lufthansa.

Do I need a visa to go to Russia?

Yes. Fans must arrange their own visas, with application centres available in Manchester, London and Edinburgh.

The club will cover the cost of visa applications up to £118.20.

How do I get to Spartak Moscow's stadium?

The match will be played at the Otkritie Arena, which was opened in 2014.

It is located 14 kilometres from Moscow city centre, but can be easily reached on the purple Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya metro line (line 7).

How many tickets have Liverpool been allocated and how much will they cost?

Liverpool have yet to receive their allocation as they want to know how many fans are interested in making the trip before coming to an agreement with Spartak Moscow.

To go to the match you MUST register your intent to travel before Thursday, September 7 at 10am.

Only fans who went to Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United (Europa League), FC Augsburg, FC Sion, Rubin Kazan, Bordeaux, Besiktas, Ludogorets, Real Madrid or Basel away in the past three years will be allowed to register.

Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, but as a guide, Manchester United fans will pay £22 and £47 to go to the match at rivals CSKA Moscow the following night.

Supporters who travel to Russia will be required to submit their travel visa and boarding pass to the club following the Spartak Moscow game.

How much do hotels cost?

Budget hotels in Moscow start at around £30 during September but prices are likely to be more expensive for central locations.

Are Liverpool running an official travel service?

Liverpool are not set to run a travel service to Moscow.
