JOE HART has warned Dele Alli “the world is watching” as Fifa opened a probe into his bad behaviour.

Dele risks a four-match suspension for showing his middle finger in the direction of ref Clement Turpin during Monday’s win over Slovakia.

And while the Tottenham ace insists he was gesturing towards Kyle Walker, Hart admitted: “The world is watching and Dele appreciates that.

“He is a young and expressive guy who is trying to get to the peak of his game. Sometimes he is going to do things that not everyone is going to agree with.

“I think we all know what has gone on — and no one has got hurt from it, let’s be honest.

“Luckily it was after the watershed but kids are watching, Dele appreciates that.

“I’m sure it will be dealt with in the right way.”

Fifa’s disciplinary code states “anyone who insults someone in any way, especially by offensive gestures may be subject to sanctions”.

The standard penalty for abusing officials is four games, which would see Dele  miss the final two qualifiers and the opening two matches of the World Cup in Russia next summer.

Fifa bosses will study the referees’ report but the Frenchman’s back was turned during the incident.

So TV footage will also be reviewed.

A Fifa spokesman said: “We’re gathering evidence and cannot comment further at this stage.”

Boss Gareth Southgate accepted the explanation from Dele but was also unimpressed that he put himself in that position.
