JOSE MOURINHO has been given a hilarious new nickname by his Manchester United staff - the SKINNY ONE.
The United boss - who dubbed himself the Special One - has shed the pounds after hitting the gym this summer.
He has been keeping active at the Red Devils' Carrington training ground with extensive workouts.
And his United backroom team are now calling him by his new nickname after the 54-year-old lost weight, cutting a trimmer build.
An Old Trafford insider revealed: "Jose puts so much effort into his sessions, both mentally and physically. It's hardly surprising.
"It’s perhaps a little unfair to say he was gaining a pot-belly, as he is now a man in his fifties.
"The problem is living in a hotel hasn’t exactly been conducive to staying in tip-top shape.
"He went with the squad to the United States in pre-season and a few of the staff have privately commented he is looking a lot slimmer these days.

"He’s been spotted around the gym a bit more. He has shed some weight and is looking in tip-top shape."
Mourinho has had a lot of deal with this year after the death of his beloved dad Felix, 79, back in June.
He had been suffering from ill-health for several months, and the ex-Chelsea chief was always back home to see him when he could.
His Wife Matilde, 53 - also known as Tami - is also believed to have suffered health issues at the beginning of the year.
Mourinho would often hire a private jet to be with her after an op, as she stayed down in London to recover.
The United source added: "The gaffer has numerous plates spinning, so we are putting his skinnier look down to that.
"He is hopefully looking after himself a bit more. He’s even more intense than Sir Alex was when he was in charge."
