ARSENAL'S Europa League clash with Cologne WILL go ahead amid huge safety concerns.

The game will kick-off at 9.05pm - after being delayed by an hour - after German fans caused chaos in and around Emirates Stadium.

Supporters stormed the ground in North London and started fighting with stewards after posing as Gunners fans.

Sam Wallace tweeted: "Arsenal say that the situation is under control and that the game will kick-off at 9.05pm."

Police officers and dogs had to be brought in as they attempted to diffuse the situation.

It has been reported that Cologne fans bought tickets from home supporters, and then jumped the barriers to get into the away section.

Some 20,000 Bundesliga fans are believed to be in the capital, with the club only allocated 2,900 tickets.

Earlier this afternoon, the Cologne faithful shut down Oxford Street as they made their way through the famous street.

Whatever the result is tonight, the fixture will undoubtedly be marred by hooligans who invoked fear into young fans.

Arsenal may be punished for failing to stop the violence, after no safety issues were deployed as Cologne fans were marching through London.

It has been reported that the away supporters donned Arsenal jerseys in the home end to ensure they would get in without any trouble.

Then once inside the ground, they congregated together and took the Gunners shirts off to reveal Koln tops - claiming the lower tier.

A video posted on Twitter has shown how cops have been forced to use their batons outside the ground.
