Liverpool fan corners owner John W. Henry and demands January swoop for Virgil van Dijk at Boston Red Sox baseball game
A LIVERPOOL fan hilariously cornered club owner John W. Henry and demanded he make a January swoop for Virgil van Dijk during a Boston Red Sox baseball game.
The American supporter begged the Anfield chief to make the move for Southampton's wantaway defender... as he watched his MLB side take to the field.
While watching the game at the famous Fenway Park, the Reds fan urged Henry to consider going back in for the Dutch star.
The fan pleaded: “Van Dijk in January.
He then repeated: “Van Dijk in January. It’s the right thing to do. He wants to play for us.”
Liverpool are in desperate need of some defensive reinforcements this January, after failing in their quest of Van Dijk all summer.
However, boss Jurgen Klopp claims the club's patchy form has nothing to do with the defence following the 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Champions League.
The German boss said: "Let me see the goals first.

"The first goal starts in a situation in the midfield when we can shoot the ball easily away. Emre was a little bit late, that's the first moment.
"I realised something would happen because until then it was a nil situation.
"We didn't, and at the end I think it was through the legs of Dejan. I don't know exactly.
"Yes that's not perfectly defended but I have to see it again.
"It's of course concentration, it's nothing else in this situation.
"So we started the game good, kind of dominant, played football, had immediately good moments and they score from pretty much their first offensive situation.
"That's a mixture of being unlucky and being a little bit 'through the wind' as we say in Germany."
There is some good news for Liverpool fans though, as two Kop stars make the list of FIFA 18's quickest players.
