Huddersfield 1 Leicester 1 highlights: Terriers denied game winning goal but pick up decent draw with Foxes

Two goals came within the first four minutes to start the half after Laurent Depoitre scored on his full Premier League debut and Jamie Vardy scored a penalty

HUDDERSFIELD hit man Elias Kachunga was robbed of a winner by a linesman's mistake.

Kachunga turned a point-blank header in from Danny Williams's rocket shot, but was wrongly ruled out for offside.

However Andy King had played him on and it was a shocking mistake by the linesman who had a perfect view.

Leicester came to attack but that made it a wildly open game and Huddersfield more than played their part and exploited the spaces that popped up.

Tom Ince revelled down the left and a fine cross let Laurent Depoitre meet a firm header that he put straight at Kasper Schmeichel.

Ince had a shot deflected over after Depoitre used his strength to set him up as the Terriers showed a real appetite.

Williams, in from the start, curled over after winning a battle with Wilfried Ndidi. Leicester generally were rattled by the pace and aggression of their rivals.

Kelechi Iheanacho threatened to mark his full debut and was taken out by Christopher Schindler for a booking, but Riyad Mahrez's free kick was blocked.

Iheanacho tried to force in a corner before Jamie Vardy finally sprang to life and fired over as Huddersfield hung on at the end of the first half.

However just as the home fans were wishing that Stephen Mounier was doing more than the half-time draw his replacement stepped forward.

Depoitre turned Harry Maguire expertly, left the centre half behind and found the far corner for a superb opener just 42 seconds after the break.

Iheanacho should have equalised straight away but his attempt at a flick over keeper Jonas Lossl was a terrible effort.

But that was soon forgotten as Andy King was brought down by Chris Lowe for a penalty, spotted by the linesman. Vardy smashed home the spot kick.

Mathias Zanka brought a fine fingertip save out of Schmeichel as the two sides went for it.

Williams was inches away too as Huddersfield pounded the goal but Vardy went closer when he failed to find a touch with nobody to beat from Mahrez's great low ball.

Ince went agonisingly close too as two of the brighter sides around looked for a late winner.

WHAT THEY SAID

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare speaking to Sky Sports: "We have to look at it as a good point. I thought we were second best especially in the first half.

"Huddersfield did to us today what we normally do to teams. We were off to the pace. To come away from a hard place and get a point was pleasing."

Huddersfield manager David Wagner speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm disappointed with a point. It was a harsh decision from the linesman because it was a clear second goal we scored.

"It was a great team effort and a good performance. It was high intense football against a top quality side.

"I am massively disappointed we had this wrong decision that was an important one. From my point of view it was clear he is onside."
