Everton and Sunderland to ditch usual shirt sponsors in Carabao Cup clash to promote Bradley Lowery charity
Both clubs’ strips will display Bradley Lowery Foundation logo, will then be signed by players and auctioned off to raise funds
EVERTON and Sunderland will ditch their usual shirt sponsors in Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash to promote the charity set up in memory of Bradley Lowery.
Both clubs’ strips will display the logo of the Bradley Lowery Foundation and they will then be signed by the players and auctioned off to raise money for the fund.
Young Sunderland fan Bradley died aged six in July after suffering from neuroblastoma - a rare type of cancer.
He first shot to the public's attention when he was made the Black Cats' mascot for their home Premier League clash with Everton last September.
Sunderland and the Toffees became great supporters of the Lowery family and Goodison Park staged a charity match in Bradley's honour earlier this month.
The Bradley Lowery Foundation has recently been awarded registered charity status and aims to offer support to families whose children are ill.
Ahead of tomorrow night's Goodison game, Bradley's mum Gemma said: "We are absolutely thrilled to see the Foundation logo on the front of the shirts.
"The game has a very special meaning to myself and Carl and we are overwhelmed by the support we have received from Sunderland and Everton.
