Gabriel Jesus set for bumper new contract at Manchester City only nine months after £27m move from Palmeiras

GABRIEL JESUS is set for a bumper pay rise at Manchester City - only nine months after joining.

The Brazilian striker has hit 12 goals in 15 starts for City since a £27million move from Palmeiras.

And with his £70,000 a week wage looking low in the current inflated transfer marker and salaries, the 20-year-old should be getting a big increase.

SunSport has previously reported how Jesus made a little history as his 11 Premier League goals have come at an average of every 88.8 minutes – better than a goal a game.

That record is better than any other player to turn out in the top flight to have scored at least ten goals, with team-mate Sergio Aguero in the No2 spot.

The Argentine ace has scored 127 goals at an average of one per 108.4 minutes in his time at the Etihad.

The Brazil forward, 20, arrived in the Premier League with the tag of “wonderkid” that so often sees youngsters falter and fade.

However, Jesus has fired in the goals, notched a host of assists and even kept Sergio Aguero out of Pep Guardiola‘s starting XI from time-to-time.

So far this season, City man Jesus has scored five goals in six matches in all competitions – with four of those goals coming in the Premier League.

Most recently, the Brazilian superstar netted in the 6-0 drubbing of Watford, following his double against Liverpool.

SunSport reported yesterday (Monday) how Kevin De Bruyne will be offered a new £200,000-a-week deal after being branded "world class" by Guardiola.

He was instrumental as the Premier League title favourites followed up a 5-0 win over Liverpool by demolishing Feyenoord 4-0 — and then hitting Watford for six.

And the Sunday Mirror report Etihad chiefs are ready to reward De Bruyne with a new long-term deal.

The 26-year-old signed a £150,000-a-week deal when he joined from Wolfsburg in 2015 for £55million — and will see a £50k increase.

City are wary of risk of allowing De Bruyne go into the final two years of his contract, such is his growing stature in world football.
