Manchester City closing in on signing 17-year-old Turkish wonderkid Berke Ozer from Altinordu

City are casting net all over the world to snap up top young talent to join the Etihad Campus but face competition from clubs in Spain, Italy and Germany for his signature

MANCHESTR CITY are closing in on highly rated young goalkeeper Beke Ozer, according to reports.

The 17-year-old Altinordu stopper is being chased by clubs all over Europe, but City are confident they will get a deal over the line.

Turkish Football.com report club president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan has confirmed City’s interest along with three unnamed clubs form Germany, Italy and Spain.

Ozkan said: “One of the clubs trying to sign Berke Ozer is Manchester City.

“In total four teams are from the race the other clubs are from Germany, Italy and Spain.

“We want Berke to stay on and become a first-team keeper for us because we will give him playing time.

“Berke is going to go to the World Cup in India with the under-17 side so he’ll gain valuable experience there.”

City have been keeping tabs on Berke for a year after his stand out performances at the All Star Cup in the Czech Republic.

Ozer has four sides ranging from England, Germany, Italy and Spain all actively trying to sign the 17-year-old keeper.

The teenager has already made two league starts for Altinordu with the club resigned to losing another top talent to one of Europe’s elite.

Twenty-year-old Caglar Soyuncu left the club to become a first team regular with Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.
