Arsenal star Jack Wilshere wants West Ham to make another January bid for him after failing to win back first-team spot

Wilshere looks surplus to requirements at the Emirates with no sign of a new deal in North London with the midfielder issuing a come and get me plea to Slaven Bilic

JACK WILSHERE is set to run down his Arsenal contract – with his preferred destination across London to join West Ham, according to reports.

Daily Star report Wilshere has not had any talks with the Gunners about extending his stay at the Emirates and will be free to talk to overseas clubs in January.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and a permanent move away from the Emirates was on the cards during the summer window.

While trying to tie up a deal for Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho, the Hammers were keeping tabs on Wilshere right up until deadline day.

But the West Ham board were put off by the £20million fee due to the midfielder’s injury record.

Wilshere is fit again after breaking his leg last season at Bournemouth, but his return to fitness was interrupted when he was sent off for the Gunners Under-23's against Manchester City last month.

He got 22 minutes against Cologne in the Europa League last week and is expected to feature against Doncaster in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Wilshere is way down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger and didn’t even make the bench for the draw at Chelsea.

Wenger opted for the inexperienced Ainsley Maitland-Niles on the bench at Stamford Bridge ahead of the midfielder desperate to win his place back in the starting line up.

That snub has sent a clear message to Wilshere that he has no future at Arsenal.

But he hopes to persuade West Ham, who he supported as a boy, to make a January move by impressing in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.
