Liverpool eye Red Bull Liepzig defender Dayot Upamecano to shore up leaky defence but youngster offered bumper new deal by German side

LIVERPOOL are keeping tabs on RB Liepzig defender Dayot Upamecano, according to reports.
The Premier League side have already done business with the Bundesliga outfit as Naby Keita will move to Anfield next summer.
Upamecano, 18, moved to RB Liepzig from sister club Salzburg in January on a four-year deal and has already established himself as one Europe’s hottest properties.
Bild report Liverpool are monitoring his situation, however French youngster has been offered a lucrative new long-term deal with Liepzig to ward off any potential suitors.
The new deal will also include buy-out clause of £88million to demonstrate how determined the Bundesliga side are to hold on to their prize asset.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is in need of defensive reinforcements after losing to Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan have all been used as central defensive partnerships, but no combinations looks to be working so far this season.
Yet again Klopp was left scratching his head after another poor defensive showing as Liverpool crashed out of the Carabao Cup at Leicester City, failing to win their fourth game on the bounce in September.

Klopp said:“That we conceded (goals) like this makes me really, really sick.
“The story of this game is really easy to tell, we were the much better team in the first half, we played good football, we didn’t score. That’s sometimes part of football.
“But as long as we concede goals like we conceded today again, then it is quite difficult. I’m sick of goals like this.
They scored too easily and we didn’t push up together for the first. I can say it one time or 1,000 so it’s not nice to concede these goals.
“We had big chances and strange situations but it’s a 90-minute game. We need to concentrate to the end.”
