Chelsea star David Luiz broke his wrist against Arsenal on Sunday… but carried on playing before being sent off
DAVID LUIZ has broken his wrist in a freak accident playing for Chelsea.
The defender sustained a fracture in the joint crashing into advertising hoardings making a typically tough tackle during Sunday's 0-0 draw against Arsenal.
But the hard nut Brazil star is vowing to play on despite the injury and is already training again just three days after the incident.
Luiz is banned for the next three Chelsea games having been sent off for violent conduct in the game at home to the Gunners anyway.
But he is soldiering on with just a splint for protection as he wants to keep his place in boss Antonio Conte's team.
Luiz hurt himself in the second half of Sunday's match but played on and even got himself sent off just moments after taking a tumble on the touchline.
He was given a straight red card for making a flying lunge at Arsenal left back Sead Kolasinac.
He is suspended for the crunch game against Manchester City and will not be eligible aain until October 14 when Chelsea go to Crystal Palace.

Luiz spent much of last season carrying a knock on his knee after getting booted by City striker Sergio Aguero.
Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen is set to be the man to replace Luiz in the heart of defence.
When asked about the Brazilian's suspension, Conte said: "Christensen is a very young player but I think he is a good player and I trust him.
"Now he has the possibility to play and now he has to prepare very well to play."
