Wales hero Joe Ledley signs for Derby after being released from Crystal Palace in the summer
Midfielder had been out of contract but has only signed a deal until January
JOE LEDLEY has signed a short-term deal to join Championship side Derby County.
The Wales midfielder has been out of contract since his release from Crystal Palace in the summer.
The 30-year-old has signed on at Pride Park until January.
He was able to make a move outside the transfer window as he was a free agent.
Ledley, who helped Wales reach the semi-final of Euro 2016, had rejected offers to move abroad.
Dragons manager Chris Coleman selected Ledley in his squad for the World Cup qualifiers at the start of the month, although he played no part in either game.
Ledley, who will join the rest of Gary Rowett's squad on Thursday, is available for selection for Saturday's game against Birmingham.
The midfielder, who won three Scottish titles with Celtic, joins a Rams start who have had a mixed start to the season.

They are currently 15th in the Championship, with three wins, a draw and three defeats from their opening seven matches.
Ledley started his career at local club Cardiff City before making the move to Glasgow.
After three-and-a-half years with the Bhoys, Crystal Palace moved for him in January 2014.
He was a key player in his first 18 months at the club before injuries limited his appearances.
Ledley also has 73 caps for Wales.
