Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera and the Manchester United squad wrap up warm during soggy Carrington training session

It was raining heavily in Manchester as Jose Mourinho put his squad through a gentle programme following their 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Burton Albion last night.

So it was a case of putting the hood on for a large number of the players to escape as much of the wet weather as possible.

Ander Herrera is in his third season at Old Trafford and he has clearly learnt how to keep himself dry since moving from Spain.

Marouane Fellaini and Antonio Valencia were also quick to hood up to ensure they didn't get soaked in the warm-down session, along with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

But Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic showed little sign of being troubled by the elements as they ignored the rain to go through their paces.

The mood among the squad is good with United still unbeaten in all competitions this season - even though the goal Burton scored was the first they have conceded at Old Trafford this season.

And they will hope to maintain their impressive start to the campaign on Saturday when they travel to the south coast to face Southampton.

Mourinho's side are currently level with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, with four wins and a draw from their opening five matches.
