Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes his side are in good shape and ready for Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid after breezing past Stoke

The Blues smashed the Potters 4-0 at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, with star striker Alvaro Morata netting a hat-trick going into Wednesday's tie in Spain

ANTONIO CONTE is confident his Chelsea side are in good shape going into Wednesday's Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid.

The Blues destroyed Stoke on Saturday - cruising to a 4-0 win - as they look to carry on their fine form ahead of their trip to Spain.

Chelsea will be the first foreign club to play in the Wanda Metropolitano, and will be looking to extend their lead at the top of Group C.

Alvaro Morata netted his first hat-trick in the colours of his new side in the rout against the Potters, while Pedro also got on the score sheet.

And Conte was left delighted by the manner of their victory, and has insisted his side will be ready when they face Diego Simeone's men.

He said: "'It wasn't easy despite the 4-0 result. We must be pleased and satisfied.

"Now it's important to rest well and prepare for another game against Atletico Madrid.

"'We have to prepare in the right way for this tough game.

"In the last few years they've been strong in the Champions League, reaching two finals.

'But we are in good shape. We are rotating and the answer from my players is positive. We will be ready."

And to add extra fire to the fixture, Diego Costa is poised to be paraded before their match-up after completing a medical ahead of returning to Madrid.

Simeone said of the striker: “It makes us so happy that a player of such high esteem wold have such a strong desire to join us.

“He fought for this move and that is admirable. I’m very happy.”
