EVERTON are reportedly lining-up a swoop for Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro.

The French international could find himself surplus to requirements in the next transfer window following the arrival of Diego Costa.

And the Daily Mirror claim that Ronald Koeman has been sounded out over his availability.

The 30-year-old is believed to be worried over his playing time after Atletico struck a deal to bring Costa back to the club.

Diego Simeone will also need to balance the books after shelling out £67million for the Spain forward.

And he will be hoping to get at least £20m for Gameiro should they decide to sell.

He was in prolific form last season following his £35m arrival from Sevilla.

But that may not be enough to guarantee his long-term future in the capital.

Everton shelled out heavily in the summer as Koeman brought in a number of additions to bolster his squad.

However, he did not replace Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian's departure to Old Trafford.

Moves for Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and Costa both failed to materialise, leaving him short of striker options.
