The Frenchman, a £52million summer signing from Lyon, might be on £150,000-a-week but is clearly happy to shop at a mid-range supermarket.

Lacazette was spotted at the Hampstead store buying a small bag of groceries before hopping back into his left-hand-drive red Ferrari 488 on Wednesday evening.

He was with an unknown brunette.

The striker, who has four goals for his new club, had trained earlier in the day but will NOT play tonight.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has decided to take a young squad to Belarus for the Europa League clash with Bate Borisov.

Several first-team stars have been left at home with Arsenal facing Brighton on Sunday lunchtime.

"It was based on a bet with a friend of mine who really likes music that involves trumpets.

"It was a joke between the two of us. That’s how it all started, it was all a bet.

"I’ve just kept doing it and I really like it.

"The first time was in a friendly: Lyon against Sporting Lisbon, I believe, and then I did it in the league at Nancy."

Former Gunners midfielder Alex Hleb, who has had three spells at Bate, is not convinved by the new Arsenal No 9.

He said: "I can't say he's a 'fantastic' signing.

"I am a fan of Giroud and I don’t think Lacazette is better than him.

"I think the two are on the same level."
