Who is Eddie Nketiah? Arsenal’s ex-Chelsea striker in mould of Thierry Henry who hit big double against Norwich

ARSENE WENGER is excited about 18-year-old Eddie Nketiah who made his senior debut in Arsenal's 4-2 win over BATE, coming on in the 89th minute for Jack Wilshere.

The striker Nketiah then went one further by scoring TWICE in the 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Norwich - making him the first player born after Arsene Wenger took the Arsenal job to score for the club.

Here is all you need to know about him.

Who is Eddie Nketiah?

Eddie Nketiah was born in London in May 1999.

The striker was previously on Chelsea's books but joined Arsenal as a scholar in 2015 after being released by the Blues.

Nketiah signed a pro-contract with the Gunners a year ago.

What type of player is Nketiah?

Nketiah is the latest in a line of Arsenal players to have been likened to Thierry Henry.

His natural position is striker, but he can also play on both flanks.

Nketiah spoke in March of his style of play, saying: "My game is mainly pace, movement and finishing.

"But I’ve made an effort to hold the ball up better which is something vital for the team and that Olivier Giroud does so well.

"I have also worked hard on my heading and have already scored three headed goals this season."

What were the biggest achievements of his youth career?

Nketiah has rotated between Arsenal's under-18s and under-23s since joining the club.

In 2015/16 he was the U18s' top scorer with 24 goals in 28 appearances.

At U23 level, he caught the eye last season with a spectacular hat-trick against Leicester.

And for England U18s he has impressed with a hat-trick against Qatar.
