LIVERPOOL'S and Arsenal's owners will be powerless to stop their game being moved to Christmas Eve despite huge concerns over fans getting home and security at the match.

And the Times are now reporting that the clubs would have no say in stopping the game being moved despite a host of problems the fixture change could cause.

Both the Reds and the Gunners gave the Premier League their permission to sell the rights to the games to Sky Sports and BT Sports.

And so as part of the £5billion deal, it is the league chiefs who will have the final say on if the fixture is moved.

Liverpool have vowed to fight the plan as their fans would struggled to travel down from the North West to London and back.

Virgin Trains have yet to confirm their schedule for the festive period but there were claims the last service from Euston to Liverpool would be at 9.21pm.

And Arsenal are also said to be worried about getting enough stewards to staff the event.

The move would also affect Crystal Palace and Swansea, who are due to face Arsenal and Liverpool on Boxing Day.

Should the television company opt to fill their "Super Sunday" slot, it will become the first time in 22 years that a top-flight game has been played on that day.
