Sergio Aguero: Manchester City ace cheats death in car crash – and all fans are worried about is their fantasy football teams

SERGIO AGUERO cheated death in a car crash last night - and all fans were left thinking about is the damage it does to their fantasy football teams.

Manchester City striker Aguero is understood to have suffered broken ribs in the smash when the taxi he was travelling in ploughed into a lampost.

And there are suggestions the Argentina star only escaped being killed in the accident in the Netherlands because he was wearing a seat-belt.

But while most were shocked at learning the news when they woke this morning, others could think only of their fantasy football teams.

Aguero is believed to be facing two months on the sidelines through injury, and for many that is a nightmare for the chances of their Dream Teams doing well.

With his City team-mate Benjamin Mendy also suffering a long term knee injury this week, Aguero's fitness concerns are too much for many to take.

BBC Football Focus presenter Dan Walker admitted his guilt at feeling more concerned for his team than he should have done compared to worries about Aguero's health.

Walker tweeted: "I feel slightly guilty that I'm assessing the Aguero/Mendy news entirely through the prism of my fantasy team."

The striker is now believed to be flying back to Manchester where he will be assessed by club doctors to see the extent of his injuries.

City have yet to officially rule Aguero out of the squad for Saturday's big Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

But boss Pep Guardiola will know he may have to change his plans to cope with loss of a striker who has scored seven goals in eight games this season.
